We're Hiring at Modern General®

We’re currently hiring for full-time and part-time positions and looking for year-round employees seeking steady employment with the opportunity to grow in our Sag Harbor, NY storefront.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS ARE FOR:

• Store Associates

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Opening and closing the shop.
• Brewing coffee, packaging sweets and refilling coffee kegs for the coffee bar.
• Ringing up customers at checkout.
• Mastering our POS system capabilities to perform sales, returns, special orders, shipments, and more.
• Assisting customers with product details and information.
• 100% familiarity with our websites, store product offerings and who we are/what we do as a company.
• Assisting with receiving and processing new inventory.
• Assisting with stock taking.
• Keeping shelves fully stocked.
• Cleaning and tidying.
• Fully restocking the store for the next shift/day.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Self starters who will be accountable for keeping up on product knowledge and will be mindful of how to prioritize tasks in the moment.
• "Good note takers" who will retain and maintain their own reference materials for training and important information.
• Attention to detail.
• Pride in keeping the shop clean and organized.
• Immediate availability for 20-40 hours per week.
• Set schedule with limited conflicts from May through September.
• Ability to stand for a full shift, climb stairs and lift up to 30lbs. safely.
• Calm, friendly, positive and professional demeanor with ability to remain composed and focused when busy or learning new tasks.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills, printers and Shopify POS a plus.
• Sales and customer service focus a must.
